Chucker
Hey guys, None of the local health food or vitamin stores carries lanolin oil. Most of the online vendors are flaky hippie companies that don't track stock and/or have really slow shipping. I have a batch coming from Web Vitamins via Amazon. It took three (3) days for my order to leave their dock! Anyone have a recommendation for a good, reliable hippie company with actual stock on hand and fast shipping? Thanks. Sarge
Did you google pure lanolin oil? I found a bunch of places. http://www.soapgoods.com/Lanolin-Oil-p-747.html
Chucker
I did and I found that site as well. The question is more about BE Forum members having actual, positive experience with a specific vendor.

Jaxshooter
Let's not be so crtical of hippies I am still one at heart. If you are under 60 you don't even know what a hippie is. Please take this as intended with Peace and Love from the hippie generation.

Besides, I was only being critical of the unreliable ones! (See question above about seeking a 'good, reliable hippie company')

leas327
Are you looking for Lanolin oil or Anhydrous Lanolin? Or is there a difference? I am no expert. If you want some Lanolin to make your own case lube or bullet lube I know Anhydrous will work. I get mine from a vendor dealer on the castboolits forum named randyrat. He sells beeswax, lanolin, carnuba wax, and his own bullet lube. Lanolin is $12 a pound. Mix Anhydrous and rubbing alcohol to make a copy of Dillon case lube. roostershooter
Are you using it for bullet lube? If so ... you can get Lansinoh at any major retailer, Wal-Mart, Target, etc... I use it on my hands during the winter time, because I'm outside a lot and it prevents them from drying out. Check in the baby section. Nursing mothers use it a lot for breastfeeding. Some pharmacists can order medical grade lanolin, but it might not be as cheap as Lansinoh. Edited November 1, 2012 by roostershooter
Sgtsvi
I bought liquid lanolin at a vitamin shop and 99% alcohol at Tom Thumb grocery pharmancy to make case lube. the alcohol is Safeway brand.
DyNo!
Nipple cream for breast feeding works great. I'm not shitting you. It's embarrasing as hell every time I buy it. *Cashier gives me strange looks* "IT'S LUBRICANT FOR MACHINE PARTS!" *Cashier gives me strange looks*
Youngeyes
I still breast feed and I reload. Does this lanolin come in flavors?

Youngeyes
Reminds me of the story of the man whose mother died at childbirth. He had to be breast fed by his grandmother. He's OK, but he likes to buy milk that is past the expiration date.

Lanolin for face, hair and body is a mega useful natural substance. Its main cosmetic properties are that it easily penetrates the skin, has an excellent emollient effect on dry skin and is an excellent emollient! Whaaat?? While in the Navy, my father was state side in 1971 assisting with the bodies coming off the boat. He noticed a good friend from High School was one of them and wanted to escort his friend to the gate personally. It was near the gate that a hippie spit on my father. My father said that "it took every fiber in my body not to kill him." I am very proud of my father for having such restraint. Too bad THAT hippie didn't. It is my belief that not all hippies are alike. As with any generation or group, all are not alike. Let's not make generalizations to be specific. It is best to take each person/company as they come and not prejudge.
