Leupold Scopes

I want a new scope for tactical. Leaning towards the 1-4x20mm but woried about the smaller 20mm obj. compared to the 2-7x 33. Is there a big difference in field of view. which one would be better for up close hoser targets. Thanks Dan H.

Benny Hill has recommended the Simmons 1-5 shotgun scope in the past.

Under $100 from SWFA.com. You could buy two scopes and mounts for the price of one Leupold and have a larger field of view and have a backup scope to boot.

I have the Sightron 1.5 - 6 and it works great. About 1/2 the price of the Leupold too.

I just can't see putting major high dollar glass on a 3-gun rifle that is likely to take some abuse...unless you can afford to have two of them.

My plan is to duplicate my optic setup with another monolithic mount. Zero them both in and if one craps out during a match I can swap in the other one.

I have owned and used a lot of Leupold scopes over the years and I really like them...just don't like the prices. I know they have a super warranty and they will repair them after you thrash them but doubt they can turn it around before the next match let alone the next stage.

My 3 cents (inflation you know) :)
