Why no talk of the M1 Practical?

The M1 Practical is an Open shotgun, it has a 26 inch ported barrel so even if you remove the comp it is still an Open shotgun.

The mag is an 8 rounder, take it off and put on a 10 rounder and you have a fully Open shotgun, add a reddot if you want and hose!

If you are looking for a Limited Benelli out of the box, get the M1 Tactical with 21 inch barrel, but again you will have to add an extended mag tube to get max rounds allowed for Limited.

Either are great shotguns for their respective divisions!

For "Tactical" division in the non-USPSA, 3-gun matches that follow the International Multi-Gun rules, such as the Superstition Mountain Mystery 3 Gun http://www.smm3g.com/2005%20SMM3GRules.pdf the maximum barrel length of a shotgun can be no more than 22" and hold no more than 9 rounds loaded to start a stage.

For USPSA 3-gun matches, in "Standard" aka "Limited" Division, you can have a maximum of only 9 rounds loaded, so it doesn't make sense to have a barrel that is much longer than the magazine tube. For "Open" the max is 11 rnds. http://www.uspsa.org/rules/2004ShotgunRulesFinal.pdf

If you're looking for a Benelli to use for Limited or Tactical, get a M1S90 Field model w/ a 21" vent-rib barrel. If you're looking for one for "Open" then a 26" barrel vent rib barrel would be fine.

I have used a Benelli Practical for 4 or 5 years now. I don't use the screw on comp, makes the length too long.

With the mag tube it comes with you get 11 total. 9 in the tube, 1 in the chamber and 1 in the carrier.

My best advise if you get one is to not mess with it. That is when I got all sort of problems with it. Now it runs great and I have a old style Holosite on it. I tis a Open shotgun. If I want to shoot limited I take my Remington.
