Clear Advantage Tactical and Texas State Tactical would like to announce the first CATARMS Precision 3 Gun match on December 8, 2012. Presented by: Texas State Tactical and Clear Advantage Tactical Sponsored by: Legion Firearms and Springfield Armory Hosted by: Copperhead Creek Shooting Range Marble Falls, Texas The match will be a multigun match consisting of precision rifle, carbine, and handgun. There will be two recognized divisions: Bolt Action and Semi-Automatic Precision Rifles No .338 or larger calibers will be allowed. Precision rifle targets will be out to 800 yards in a natural Central Texas Hill Country environment. The registration packets are available now at www.precision3gun.com. The match will be limited to 100 shooters due to the time constraints set by the daylight hours in early December. The rules will be a modified version of IMG rules for this format and scoring will be standard time plus penalty scoring. Trophies will be presented for the top finishers in both divisions. The prize table (order of finish for both divisions) currently consists of $5-10k including firearms from the major match sponsors Legion Firearms and Springfield Armory. I have never shot precision anything. What exactly are precision rifle targets? Targets that you shoot with a precision rifle. C-Zones at 500ish yards, IPSC at 800 yards a bit uphill. Nothing but a thing for a 3 gun ninja like you or Kalani, JT. I suppose we could make the targets smaller... Nothing but a thing for a 3 gun ninja like you or Kalani, JT. I suppose we could make the targets smaller... That's not bad at all. I was expecting 4-6" at 800 or something crazy. Just need to make sure I've got acceptable gear for the precision part. I'm assuming rules will be pretty standard IMGA based and we just use the precision rifle where dictated. Congrats to Sheldon Blackwell for winning the bolt gun class and Jerry Miculek for winning the semi-auto class. I hope everyone had a great time. I do love shooting in the Texas Hill country.
