Suicycle
I had a rather odd sensation at a match today, twice. Load up and after the beep the trigger wasn't reset. When I charge the pistol I really rip the slide to the rear. I just cleared and moved on through the stage. Then on the second stage the same thing happened. The rest of the stages at LAMR I managed to look at the trigger before I holstered, but it was all good. Also after I got home I managed to cycle the gun a few times on an empty chamber and the trigger didn't reset after dry fire, I wasn't holding it back like shooting reset at home though. The gun has a ghost connecter and a wolfe extra power trigger return spring in it and stock other than that. Pretty much just like all my other glocks, just this one is acting up today. Cy Soto
That sounds like a broken trigger spring.
Micah
Broken trigger spring, weak striker spring, or too much augmentation to the trigger bar. Given what you have stated, your striker spring may be loosing its "umph".
Suicycle
But it is working fine except for the 3 times today. Maybe 1k through the gun total and all through the new spring and part. Well it aint totaly stock, it does have good sights too.
Suicycle
Just read the striker spring post. Thanks for the idea Micah. I will dig into it tomorrow after the bourbon wears off and see what it looks like or how things feel. It is my newest glock which is my backup to the normal beater 34. I just took it out to put a few more rounds through it and get some good vibes with it. Last outing with it I lofted one over the berm when I couldn't decide to shoot or reload at a USPAS match. OUshooter
Most likely the springs are fine. The bend on the connector is the issue. The ghost connector website holds all the answers.
SPRSkip
Agree to look at the connector. I have had this issue as well
Suicycle
Found the site, browsed down and got the info. I will strip it down tomorrow and check it out. That sounds like it may fix it, possibly bent in too far. Once the dry fire felt like I tried to pull the trigger with the slide off, kind of an odd sensation where the trigger moved but the striker didn't release. Thanks for the heads up. Waterfowl-widowmaker
You may want to chech the trigger bar. I've ran into the same thing on two different gen 4 model 17's. When the trigger was pulled to the rear it would slide in between the frame and the connector.
Ultimo-Hombre
You say you have changed out the trigger return spring? The springs in a glock all have to be in harmony so to speak. If you have one stiffer or weaker the. The whole equation craps out. Try putting all your OEM springs back in and to from there. I found that if a put in a 6lb trigger spring while running a 4lb striker spring I had the exact same trouble of the trigger safety not engaging because the trigger wouldn't reset fully. Suicycle
I fixed it last month. Springs were fine, it was the ghost connector that didn't have enough bend. But thanks for the concern.
cohland
Do you have an overtravel screw in the trigger mechanism housing? I had one of those creep out of adjustment and turn my Open G35 into a single-shot pistol during a match. I yanked out the housing and replaced it with stock, and the problem disappeared. Something to look at, anyway. Chris Edited December 26, 2012 by cohland
JBP55
That is quite common with Ghost connectors. Connectors should be Drop In and not need tweaking repeatedly.
