ummm
Which do you prefer and why? Does a nice, aftermarket release help you at all with reload speed / reliability, or is it just for looks?
StealthyBlagga
If you can reach the factory release, I don't see any advantage to anything different. Better to spend the $$$ on a magazine big enough that you never need to reload on the clock
latech15
I just swapped a standard out for the big round one. Can't really tell much of a difference. I had to pry the other side of the mag release out to get it rotated around (screwed in) as much as I wanted it. Didn't like that at all.
gng4life
I like the Arrendondo release the best. Does it speed up reloads? I don't think so but it helps on those times that you may miss the factory release. I see that as more of a "want" than a "need" on the rifle but I like them. EkuJustice
just use the factory mag release and an extended mag when needed as I never plan on reloading duing the stage
GorillaTactical
I'm usually a big proponent of buy whatever makes you feel like you have an edge and/or makes you happy (opposed to people who say "well you don't need that"), but in this case, I feel like the factory mag release is simply the best option. Not only do you not have to worry about the possibility of failure of an aftermarket product, but you almost never reload on the clock with an AR, and if you do, the ergo's are setup well enough where the thing is pretty darn hard to miss. Alaskapopo
If you can reach the factory release, I don't see any advantage to anything different. Better to spend the $$$ on a magazine big enough that you never need to reload on the clock +1 x100. Its a waste of money but hey its your money. The downsides coule be getting your magazine to release when you don't want it to. I am not a fan of extended mag releases on most any gun. pat
Round_Gun_Shooter
For me the oversize release is a bug help. I have no feeling from knuckle to fingertip so it is easy to miss. I went with a larger round release and put a rubber O ring behind it so it did not push in too far. A little grip tape on it and finger sticks wet, dry, or with gloves. fastshooter03
I use the Arrendondo 2 pc plastic. It was not a big help at the CMMG team event though On the way to prone w rifle, my finger hit it and the mag went flying I'm pretty sure I heard the RO laughing as I cursed myself and tried to finish the embarrasment I have the video but I don't think I'm going to add it to utube with the rest I just put up. You can't see anything but how long it takes for me to start shooting. Nick
Ninja Moose
I also use the factory mag release and haven't had a problem reaching/finding it, even with small hands.
Matt1911
You'll have to try it out for yourself to see if its for you or not. We could go on and on about out opinions of different mag releases, but what works for one May not work for another so I suggest asking to fondle different rifles at matches and see what you do and don't like.
