Scootertheshooter
So I call hogue and they tell me the PC and the regular 627 frames are a bit different and their grip may not fit! I called S&W and they said bull. An N frame is an N frame. Does anyone ever heard about what the woman at Hogue is talking about? Or is there someone else that I could call at Hogue to get a solid answer? Edited October 8, 2012 by jhgtyre Forum Policy

I called S&W and they said bull. An N frame is an N frame. Does anyone ever heard about what the woman at Hogue is talking about? Or maybe you have a big butt grip your looking to get rid of.I'm not trying to be rude but is there someone else that I could call at Hogue to get a solid answer? I have had this question posed to me several times over the last year. To the best of my knowledge, an "N" frame is an "N" frame as far as grips go. Toolguy
There are square and round butt "N" grip frames. The grip frame is the metal part of the frame that the grips fit on. That is all the difference I've ever encountered.

Aglifter
I think some of it is that the N frame grips from Hogue don't always fit well. I had a stockmaker fit my last set, because it was quite different than my N frame.

practical_man
I have a set of big but grips that came off a PC 627 and fit my standard 627 just fine. No idea what the nice lady a Hogue was talking about. -john
Scootertheshooter
She went as far as to tell me I would need to ship my revolver to them and they would fit it. If I took the cylinder out it won't be a gun so I could ship it. That doesn't make it a gun.
buckaroo45
I have 6 N frames and 3 Big Butt grips. I move whatever grip I want to whatever gun I want. Sounds like you mebbe got a trainee at Hogue. Nice people there, tho.
TonyT
I have interchanged Hogue wood grips on several modern round butt N-framed revolvers. They all fit the same.

DKSComp
Carmoney is correct, the serial numbered part is considered the firearm. Removing cylinder is bull crap. Dave Schattel
Jaxshooter
I have 3 PC 627s and have Hogue Big Butt grips on all 3, 2 Standard 625s and a PC 625 also with BBGs. I can swap grips around on all of them with no problem. Get you grip from Bob at North Mountain Products/ 4 Wheelguns. anachronism
I can't get Hogue grips to fit my early 629 MR. They always leave a gap at the step.
