RadarTech
Hey folks, I just got a new STI Edge and have not changed the springs. Except to lighten the trigger. So my question is regarding primers. On my spartan, I've had no problems with Wolf, Magtech, Winchester, tul or Federal. The tul, wolf and Magtech cost $20 per 1k with Winchester and federal about $30 per 1k Has anyone had problems with the cheaper ones? Granted I would only use tul for backup primers... Wolf and Magtech has been my main stay.... Thoughts? Jim
Croomrider
You should not have any problems related to the hammer hitting hard enough to set off any decent primer. That being said, I can't speak with experience about the brands you listed, but if people use them with success, you shouldn't have a problem with an STI hammer gun! Hunter413
I use a 15lb mainspring in my still and tul primers... works fine
Rob01
17 and 19 pound mainsprings set off my Tula primers just fine in a couple different pistols. 19 pound is factory so you should be fine.
g mac
I use 17 maisprings, and have no problems with tula or cci primers. They're supposed to be the hardest compared to federal and winchester primers.
