Detroit Sportsmen's Congress - October 21st Match

Recommended Posts

The Motor City Speed Shooters at Detroit Sporstmen's Congress will hold their October match outdoors on the third Sunday. We will have eight stages with a round count close to or slightly over 200 so bring some additional ammo over our normal 150. Registration begins at 8:00 AM and closes at 9:30 AM with the match commencing at 10:00 AM. Discounted match fees will be available for squad RO's and assistant RO's. Make sure you are available for the 9:15 RO walk through. We will be using PractiScore on the Nooks so if you know your way around that device, consider volunteering and getting a discounted match fee.

The stage designs have been borrowed from recent out-of-state, Area and National matches and will present a challenge to every level of shooter. After the match, all competitors are welcome to enjoy the club house where refreshments and lunch are available for purchase.

Addition information available at

This will be our final outdoor match for the 2012 season as we head indoors for November's match with scheduled squadding.

See you on the range!

Stage designs are finalized. The round count is 202 so it should be loads of fun. The classifier stage will be in the same bay as a 24 round speed shoot based on the US Nationals stage "Tick Tick Tick". We just bumped it up another 8 rounds with an additional mandatory reload....

Bring at least 300 rounds (400 might be better) as there will be lots of steel along with our traditional plate rack which will be used in conjunction with the Texas Star but with a devious twist that involves steel No-Shoots. The "ding" you hear might not be what you thought.... Lots of "start anywhere" start positions and a variety of views on targets from several locations.

As with all the DSC stages, there will be multiple ways to shoot 'em... figuring out the best way is half the fun.
