1911Prof
OK, I have had a Dawson comp on my open gun for the last year and I am having more copper deposits in my comp than I have ever had. So I have two questions.... is it the nature of this style of comp to vent so much gas in the first two chambers that it cruds up quickly, and second; what commercial copper solvent do you guys use to get lumps of copper out (I don't want to use the peroxide solutions again it is too aggressive)
Sarge
Copper deposits? I have lots of carbon build up but I have never found copper in my comp.
iShootguns
Are you sure bullets aren't striking the comp? There shouldnt be any copper fouling. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
1911Prof
There is no evidence of the bullet striking the comp, but once I scrape the carbon crud off it there is a shiny copper colored lump on the bottom of the first chamber.
