Sight for XDM9?

I'm having trouble shooting with my XDM9 and I'm thinking it's because I'm 90% a rifle shooter and used to red dot sights... I have to get good with my pistol and I'm looking to get something as sort of a "Training Aid".

I already use a Saiga 12, so I'm in open from the get go.

What red dot sight would you suggest for an XDM9 and what mounting options are there? Would this help with my shooting, or would I be cheating myself on the fundamentals?

There is always the Carver mount with the STS or the C-more. I haven't got mine yet but if his products are anything like his service they should be great. Another nice option would be to melt a Deltapoint ( or something like it) into the slide.

What length of slide?

4.5" model

I wanted a 5.25", but it's expensive and I've been using this one since it's also my CCW. Are the doctor optics any good?
