dskinsler83
Mossberg 930 Tac w/ 18" barrel and tactical bolt knob replace the 18" breacher barrel with the 24" non ported special order barrel (order #16975MTFO non-ported btw) add Nordic +6 extension add Nordic Low Drag Follower add Nordic Barrel Clamp (non rail version) add Nordic XXL end cap Then a set of Carlson's Sporting Clays Extended Knurled Choke Tubes in Mod, IC, Full. What else? How does this sound for a 3gun shot gun??
Dan Sierpina
Sounds like the long way to get a shotgun. Unless you want the non-choked 18" barrel, why get it? The factory 3 gun versions are a pretty good deal.
dskinsler83
Cause the dang 24" ones are hard as hell to find Edited September 28, 2012 by dskinsler83

The factory 3 gun versions are a pretty good deal. besides i know it is the long more expensive way to get the gun but that is not what i asked to begin with. i asked if it sounded like a good set up. the 24" jm series are almost non existent even when talkin to mossberg reps them selves. Dan Sierpina
I have not patience I know how you feel. How long will it take for you to get the barrel from Mossberg? How long to get a 28" gun, and have the barrel shortened to 22"-24" and have it recut for AccuChokes/WinChokes? That's what a few guys here in New England did. dskinsler83
also think of this. who buys a gun for comp and doesnt change something lmao. the jm pro series comes with the +5 no xxl cap and has been said to have some problems/bugs to be fixed and worked out. plus the standard choke tubes that require a tool to change them. so for a few more dollars ill be able to have a shorter gun for home defense if wanted and then a few more round cap and fast choke tube changing if needed. and did i mention i have no patience lol

sdm74
Sounds good, im running a ex 28"wf and traded mossberg for the 24" non ported barrel . I can hold 10 in tube, it has run fine without a problem all year. Except once on some deep pocketed primers from federal. Doesn't need weld, just cut the u shaped notch in receiver, like you see in the pics somwhere in monster 930 thread. The carlsons have also worked good for my 930 Edited September 28, 2012 by sdm74
TYLAG DS
Sounds good here too. I started with a Mossberg 930 Turkey model with the 24" ported barrel, added the Nordic +6 and barrel clamp, Carlson IC choke, and Choate charging handle. Also had the mag well flared. It does well for me, but my Mossy only seems to shoot the Wally World light loads if I keep the gas piston clean...otherwise it needs loads of 1300+ fps to be reliable. dskinsler83
I had a 930 at one time that ate every load I put through her
wideerhunter
I wouldn't bother with the mag clamp. Benny Hill can weld the lifter or check with Jeff @ CRums.

perrysho
Mr. Kinsler, I have a FN SLP MKl that will not shot low base/low recoil, of any brand. So I bought a Moss 930, tricked it out with a 24" barrel from Moss and parts from Nordic/Briley that performs great so far. Shots anything in/in any order. Did basically what your doing, very happy so far, have a couple of other things gonna do this winter. There's two good gunsmiths in Sevierville, Tn. Troy Sellers 865-368-4867 Jay Crowder 865-235-4476, in your back door. Have FUN, Be SAFE, Perry

mertbl
I'm using a 930 28" waterfowl model. I have a piece of aluminum under the clamp covering the ports. I have a +8 tube. No welded lifter but I did open the loading port. I want a bigger bolt handle but just haven't ordered one yet. Your setup will work just fine, even if it costs a little more.
