FN SLP Mark 1 safety

I need to switch my safety on my FN SLP mark1 to left hand. I took out the trigger group. There is a key shaped( for lack of a better term) spring that holds the pin. Took both of these out and the safety moves freely from side to side but won't come out. What am I not doing. I tried with the hammer cocked and uncocked.
