Prariedog Posted December 2, 2012 Share Posted December 2, 2012 I am wondering why Colt did not use the SP 901 platform for a competition rifle (wondering if it would hold up). Seems some of the rifle is sourced from JD machine as they supply receivers for a few gun companies and that is their hand guard that Colt is running. Either way looks like a nice rifle. GeorgeD Posted December 2, 2012 Share Posted December 2, 2012 Its not a sp901 platform because it is not manufactured by Colt. A few posts back it is explained. The name is just licensed. I am interested to know how it shoots, it looks like it packs a punch and comes off target a lot while firing. With adjustable gas already it looks like a good start, I thinking with a better brake it could be a great rifle. But it does look heavy.
