Cleaning outdoor range brass

Hey gents, I have been able to workout a deal with an old college roommate of mine. He is the range officer for a police depo and for a few small favors he is dedicating their brass to my company. That is great but, its seriously disgusting... caked with clay/mud/etc... Since I really dont give a crap about getting dirty and trying to get it cleaned up, its no big deal. The problem is... how do I clean this stuff?

I got through about a five gallon bucket of .45, one of 40, and 3 buckets of 223... I got them pretty clean.. soaked in water and dried out in the sun after washing them off. Anyone have a better way of getting all the crap off them?

To add to that, now that they are actually cleaned off, I tumbled the stuff and the stuff is just not shinning... looks super dull and its basically driving me nuts. I know it doesn't matter how shinny the brass is but, I like my brass a certain way and I am not able to get it how I want it.

Please give me some ideas on how to get this stuff looking correct!

Thanks

300$ wet tumbler (I will have this one day)

1 used treadmill

2x4 bracing

Trolley wheels

Blue water buckets (commercial like from HD)

Steel media

lemon shine

Hot water

Holds several k at a time, 4-5 miles later = super shiny brass

2x4 frame with screen to filter water and dry cases, magnet to remove steel media after dry.

Can't wait to talk the wife into this.

Got any pics of this set up? I'm seriously thinking about doing something similar.

Jack, I don't really have a way to just go get it, I get a call and am told, cone pick up x amount of 5 gallon buckets... Other wise I would do that!

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but can you pay your friend a little

extra to pick up the brass more often? Just wondering ...

Brass may not look brand new, but it's probably very serviceable...
