ProGunGuy
I usually run a mp9 or g34 for ssp. I have found the mp lacking in accuracy at longer distance. I have found the g34 nice, but it seems that i shoot better with a shorter gun. Of course logic would say get a G17, but i am thinking of a G22 instead. I reload so i can make ammo that recoil like a 9mm compared to full house .40 So what do you think. good idea?
waktasz
Go for it. I shoot a Glock 35 in IDPA and USPSA Production with light .40 loads. If you like the 22 better, there's nothing wrong with it other than that bullets cost more.
GOF
If you like the G22, why not shoot it? If you reload, you can make the .40 kick like a light 9mm. The G22 is SSP legal, so why not?
GmanCdp
yup go for it if you reload,i know several guys shooting in SSP,but they use factory ammo and seem to enjoy the extra kick.
Drachen27
A G22 is a great choice, but be aware that even though you can adjust the load like a 9mm, it will cost you more to load a 40 rather than a 9. It's not that big of a deal, I shoot 40's myself in a G35, but it is more expensive.
Craig N
40 Short and Weak holes are easier to see.... so that's what you get for the increased cost HAR de Har Har.
JimM
I've shot a G22 in IDPA SSP, and used a 40-9 conversion barrel to shoot a G27 in IDPA ESP. It's a pretty flexible setup. Jim
