Ssanders224
Hey guys, I want to try some Solo 1000 behind Xtreme plated 180grn RNFP. Just wondering if anyone has good .40 major data for this combination? Thanks.
Ssanders224
No Solo users??
noypi916
Plated is almost the same as lead. I load 4.8gr of S1K on a 180 BearCreek TC. OAL 1.180 on Limcat Wildcat gun. I hope that helps.
wgj3
I run a little less with a Precision 185 at 1.18. Ends up ab 4.4. Somewhere in that range would be a decent place to start. May take a little more for the plated projectile. Load a few @ 4.5, chrono, adjust, re-chrono, etc. Longer OAL w/ all other things being equal will yield lower pressure. What PF are you at with 4.4grns and 1.18 OAL?
blaster113
When I used to use 180's with Solo my load was 4.8 grains of Solo at 1.180 with a BBI moly bullet out of a 5" STI. I'd suggest starting at 4.7 with a plated bullet and work up from there. My experience with plated stuff is that they take just about the same powder charge as jacketed bullets to reach desired pf.
