doc540
They say you always remember your first, right? I've only shot 3 rimfire silhouette matches, and today I won 1st place in optics and 2nd place in irons! Totally new at this, but it's the most shooting fun I've ever had. (Well, except for that one time with an M2 Carbine!) I didn't shoot very well overall considering I missed way too many pig targets, the largest ones. Go figure. Also made some embarrassing rookie mistakes like starting a stage with an empty mag. Very encouraging and can't wait to get back to the range and practice. The Model 41 is a dreamboat of a shooter. (With a little help from Kerry, the match director, who doesn't enter his scores for prizes.)
dsb45acp
Congrats! That takes some serious accuracy shooting!
Modoc
Very cool! Unfortunately the cycle on pistol is on the down swing here. I opted for the SB Cowboy Rifle instead for today's match. Just don't get an edge hit, it stinks when they don't fall Edit for fat fingers Edited September 10, 2012 by Modoc

I hit a piggy right in the throat and just turned him sideways. No count.

And to think that they had a multiple page about that same situation in the multi-gun rules forum Do you have your book? I was given a bad time, because I shot my first leg into AA yesterday, but had not bought a book for '12, so it doesn't count for NRA . Oh well, my son shot his first match, which made for a cool family day (mom shot too)
doc540
A friend loaned me his 629 with a red dot. Shooting .44 Specials....it was like shooting a rifle. Hardly fair. So, I decided to fix my "9mm is only turning them sideways" problem. Should be here by Monday or Tuesday, and I'm adding a MatchDot. Piggies beware. doc540
First reloads, first match with the 629 and won that sucka! Of course, the Lord works in mysterious ways, and I was very humbled after embarrassing myself with the 686 in the optics class. (Colt CCO is my carry piece, and all guns are unloaded on the line.)
