Torogi
I haven't bought any factory ammo for years, and when I was at the range and ran out of ammo I bought one case of 50 of CCIs Blazer Brass 9mm 115gr to try on, the felt recoil was snappy soft and very accurate! Not sure if it makes minor but I am sure am intrigued and curious what the powder is so I can start making some!
GOF
The ammo factories don't use the same powder that is available to reloaders as cannister powder. They have 'blends' that are designed to get them to a pressure threshold. Reloaders don't have access to those powders. Some available cannister powders you might try to duplicate the factory load are (from Hodgdon) Longshot, Universal, or HS-6... or AA-7, Power Pistol, or Unique. I would stay away from the fast burning powders like Clays, Bullseye, or TightGroup.
Torogi
Thanks! I currently use W231/HP-38. I have some pounders for Autocomp, Longshot and Titegroup. Clays is what I use for 45ACP major.
GOF
I forgot to mention 231/HP38... but you might get what you want with that. It's a very versatile powder for competition loads. It won't always get you to max velocity... but it will make a good match load.
