dubltap
At the Indiana Sectional Match, this past weekend, the RO instructed me to "make ready", which was "gun loaded and holstered, hands hanging naturally at sides". After doing so the, "are you ready/standby" command was given, at this time, the fingers of my gun hand were directly below my holster/muzzle. After I had shot the stage, without incident, and my squad was walking to the next stage an RO, who observed my "gun hand fingers" directly under my holstered gun informed me that this was a DQ infraction per rule 10.5.5 and 10.5.5.1. I changed my hand position for the rest of the match but, later that day, I reviewed the rule that was cited to me and in my opinion the last sentence of rule 10.5.5.1 says (paraphrasing) you can not sweep yourself with a holstered gun. Anyone else have this happen to them? What do you think? Edited August 12, 2012 by dubltap
Outsydlooknin75
It is not DQable. I would have told the RO to call a CRO and ask him, and IF it wax a DQ why didnt he make the call at that moment?
Pop N Fresh
so if you stretched/bend the wrong way you could muzzle your leg as well............................
Sarge
http://www.uspsa.org/rules/nroi_rulings.php?action=edit&indx=46 There were quite a few new/inexperienced RO's at the match. Looks like you bumped into one!

coldchar
I believe NROI specifically addressed this. If I recall, basically the gun is considered inert when in the holster thus no sweeping infraction. Jim

Sin-ster
I would be sweeping myself throughout the entire match if that were the case... Skinny + DOH holster...
