SPP hardness scale

It seems universally accepted that Federal primers are the softest. I have heard people say that CCI are the hardest. Is there any ranking, rhyme, or reason to others?

S - Federal

? - Winchester

? - Remington

? - Wolf

? - Tulammo

? - etc

H - CCI

Also... Is there a primer brand that seems to leave the least among of Ash.

and search under forums.

you should get 12 results all of which asked the same thing.

Yeah, I did some searches on benos and on google and I can find some similar info, but nothing along the line of a sensitive rating (I am imagining something similar to powder speed chart)

All the forums I looked at tend to agree that no such chart exists.

So, Fed soft, CCI hard and the others are somewhere in between.

Thanks for the replies, I guess I'm SOL on an official hardness list, oh well.

Any thoughts on which brand SPP has the least primer ash? Generally I think federals do, but that is from observing factory ammo, so I am not sure if powder selection plays a role.
