Sent the 930 JM off to Missouri last month. I originally just wanted the lifter welded but what the hell the gun was gonna be down anyways. Turn around time didn't bother me since I was TDY the whole time. Work i wanted was: loading port/trim forearm, weld and slot carrier/lifter, install XS rear sight. He said the rib didn't have enough material for the sight. A couple of things, I wish the beveling over the mag tube was more aggressive, the forearm was cut out, and the slot in the lifter was wider. Would've sent it to Benny but he was out of town and I couldn't wait to ship it out.

I'm a gear queer, just getting ready to start local matches. First one next month. Just spreading the word.

You can't really go much more aggressive that that on the feedramp. The way you have it cut, there is practically no lower feedramp left, and bringing it any more forward would end up cutting into the magazine tube itself. The upper feedramp is also very short, so there is not much you can do to it without making things worse. It's also a huge PITA to get to, so about the only thing you can do there is polish it a little with just one finger. As for the forearm, instead of cutting it shorter than it already is, I simply put a much more aggressive bevel on mine and it feels much more comfortable now when loading 2. Simply cutting it shorter will not help much because you will still have the "tall" edge, plus your receiver plug (I don't know what it's actually called) will now be exposed, too, creating another "obstruction" for your hand to go over. I guess you could try beveling it a little, too, and create a continuous bevel from the "plug" to the handguard, but I think you're getting into the area of diminishing returns at this point. Finally, when making the lifter slot wider, you're running a higher risk of getting the shells hung up on the forward edge of it.

didn't think of those thoughts  but then again thats why I sent it off to someone competent. I'd still like to see a 930 loading port done by Benny

EDIT: look at buckeyes pics in the 55 page 930 JM thread, I like how far he

goes over the mag tube. that's not the first 930 port opening I've seen that cut away the lower half of the stamping text
