carharttfarmer
Have a sp01 with a cajun gun works kit #3 has around 2.5 trigger pull and is single action only. recently started getting a bump/burst of 2-4 rounds. Happens when I'm double tapping or hosing close targets what should I check?

burningsquirrels
lol he posted at the perfect time. i was pulled over at a rest stop lighting a cigar when i saw the thread notification popped up. i had to get going so i sent him my phone # to chat while i continued on my way to area 8. basically i suggested to check the hammer to sear engagement surfaces for rounding, and to hold the trigger back and manually lower the hammer to check for sear slap. then also to check the firing pin spring to make sure it's not broken or worn out, since it can slap the primer when the slide goes into battery. lastly also check trigger adjustment to make sure the overtravel isn't on the line and that he's not just bump firing it with a stiff finger. my $1 bet is a weak firing pin spring. eerw
I would look at sear or hammer hooks. also look at trigger overtravel adjustment.
carharttfarmer
sear looked good and strait hammer looked good to overtravel screw is all the way in has been working fine for about a year and several thousand rounds trigger return spring felt weak though so changed it and the firing pin just shot close to 200 rounds trouble free
dennisp5
Does this become a problem when using lighter weight firing pin springs or extended firing pins? I have a CGW lighter spring in my 75 that has worked fine so far, but now i am wondering if I should put the stock spring back in. Dennis
Jonathan Taliani
I am running both an extended firing pin and reduced weight firing pin spring without issue. This is a common setup.
carharttfarmer
Looks like I was wrong hammer hooks are rounding looks like I'm back to glock for the weekend:(
Jonathan Taliani
Is this a high mileage gun? Did you do any work on the hooks yourself? If no to both, I'd definitely contact CGW and see if he can help you out.
