Jimdoe
I have a 9mm stock 2 and thinking of converting it to 40s&w, so besides the barrel, magazine, and recoil spring, what else do I need to change for it to run? I searched through EAACORP's part's list and I cannot find the barrel. If anyone knows the exact part numbers pls point em my way. Thanks for the reply in advance. CHA-LEE
Jimdoe> You can't perform a caliber conversion from 9mm to .40 S&W by simply swapping the barrel. The breach face on the 9mm slide is too small to work with the .40 S&W rounds. The only way you can perform a conversion from 9mm to .40 S&W is to replace the whole upper with a .40 S&W version. The only other thing you need after swapping the upper are the .40 S&W magazines. Check out EAA's website for "Conversion Kits".

Jimdoe
Chalee, Thanks for the info. I was in a "duh" moment thinking that just because it's a tanfo, all you have to do is just change the barrel. I will call EAA and see if they do have the conversion kits for a specific model. Thanks.
CHA-LEE
Jimdoe> When you call EAA make sure that you start the conversion with what version of gun you have. Their "Standard" caliber conversion uppers are not the same as a Stock II or Limited upper. You need to call them and say something like "I have a Stock II in 9mm, I would like to buy a Stock II upper in .40 S&W caliber". If you don't spell it out to them like that they will get it screwed up and send you one of the "Standard" caliber conversion kit uppers which are not the same as the Stock II. The standard caliber conversion kit will work on your Stock II, but they are not the same (Different sights, Different Barrel, Different Color, etc). Jimdoe
Chalee - duly noted. I called EAA earlier to get a price quote. I had ask if they have conversion kits and right off the bat she said yes, and I then told her that I have a STOCK II and wanting the exact model upper in 40. She had me on hold for a few minutes and later return stating that they do have the upper for stock II 40 for $400. I adamantly asked her again if it was really for a stock II and she said yes. So, they do have it but for that price I might as well get a match in 40 to shoot limited. On the other hand, their website for ordering parts could definitely use some overhauling which would eliminate us consumers, wondering for a part's availability. Thanks, James. Glk21C
I'm surprised they did not ask for the serial number?
Jimdoe
I'm surprised they did not ask for the serial number? Now that you've mentioned it, I did call EAA awhile back, during my "duh" moment, to ask if they sell a barrel for a stock II in 40. The lady told me that they did, and she also added that they were guaranteed and, if need be, they would replace the barrel and just pay for shipping. She then asked for the serial number, for which I quickly told her that I'll call back. If I had told her my plans were she would've told me "you stupid idiot, you can't do that". lol. I rather have CHALEE tell me that.
