roostershooter
I'm looking for a new 'flavor' aside from my usual 180 gr. Hornady HAP and Power Pistol Load. Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm just looking for a paper punching load to have fun with on the weekends. Thanks
DRAB81
6.0gr WSF 5.3gr W231 6.0gr Unique 9.2gr Longshot 9.8gr Longshot (over max, so work up slowly) 11.5gr Blue Dot (over max, so work up slowly) As always, reference published data before working these loads up. . redial
9.0 of Longshot in a stock Glock 20 goes 1260 or so without bulged brass. Mark
freakshow10mm
The two favorite loads that consist of 99% of my shooting loads are: 9.2gr Longshot 180gr XTP 6.0gr WSF anything 170-180gr I might toss a little Blue Dot behind a 155gr XTP here and there, but other than that, it's either 9.2 LS or 6.0 WSF all day, every day. Scott L
4.5gr Titegroup with a 200gr lead bullet, OAL around 1.258". Not sure on the velocity, never chrono'd it. It's smokey, but shoots well.
JGH4445
Freakshow10mm, I have WSF and a 10mm. Didn't know they went together. Been looking for something to use the WSF in. Do you shoot cast bullets? How about a 200 gr bullet? What kind of performance are you getting from the 6 gr load with the 180s?

I like the 180gr TC profile, but have used the 175gr SWC as well. I'ved used that load about 960fps for small game. Very accurate and a mild load you can shoot all day long. freakshow10mm
Anyone have a favorite load for a 135 nosler? Use Longshot data from the .40 S&W listing and work up. I can't find my notes on my workup, but I remember it being north of 13.0gr.
freakshow10mm
Thanks freak. I'll look in to a mold for 180 and 200 gr cast... For the 180gr mould, the Lee 401-175-TC six cavity mould is the best choice. Cheap and it works. RCBS has a 2 cavity mould they call a 200gr SWC, but it's really a TC profile like the Lee mould. The Lee 175 TC mould should drop at 180gr using WW + 2% tin.

I have read that the 135 grain bullets aren't very accurate at the speeds that the 10mm can push them; you might try the 155 grain bullets also (just my $.02). Intel6
There is data out there for the 200 WFNGC, just need to pick your powder and get at it. I have my own LBT mould and I cast my own 225 gr. WFNGC's and load them for my G20's. I still like to use 800X for it's burn rate and dispense it in my Chargemaster so I don't worry about it being too hard to meter out. I also am able to make my own jacketed bullets by using fired 9mm cases as jackets and whatever core weight I want. 1st PIC: Heavy 10mm lead bullets. L to R - 200 WFNGC pulled from a doubletap load, my 225 WFNGC and a 213 LFP I cast in a lyman mould. 2nd PIC: This is a relativly new mould from NOE that makes a 200 FPL bullet with the lube groove lowered so it can be used in a .40. In the pic L to R the bullet is loaded to .40 length in a .40, loaded to .40 long length in a .40 case and loaded to 10mm length in a 10 case. 3rd PIC: These are a few of the .40 bullets I can make L to R - 195 gr. JHP, the same with cannelures for shooting in my S&W 610, a 210 JSP and the final one is a 240 gr. JHP made from a .38 Super case. ebg3
I just tried 10gr Longshot with a 165gr Gold Dot in my Glock 20sf. Seems to be accurate, 2" at 25 yards. I've got some Sierra 180jhp that will be loaded with 9.5gr Longshot. If accurate, this will be my all around load. Longshot seems to be the powder of choice for top velocity. I'll keep that in mind when I start loading them. And I have been giving thought to some 155 grainers as I have been hearing good things about them. It must be a good weight bullet for 10mm. Freakshow10mm- Have you fired the 135 grain bullets at true 10mm velocities for groups? Hodgdon lists a top end .40 load with a 135 grain bullet as 1434 fps and their top velocity 10mm load with that weight bullet is only 1476 fps, which sounds really odd. I would be interested in hearing from someone with first hand experience on this. I am interested in hearing about your results, but probably won't get around to trying it myself, as personally I will experiment with heavier bullets. jmbaccolyte
Hodgdon doesn't list a load with Longshot and a 155 grain bullet. Has anyone tried this?
ramairthree
It has been a while, but some old notes in my log say Black Talon 200grain SXTs were giving me 900fps and I was getting the same with 200 grain FMJs and 5.0 of Bullseye from a S&W 1086. OAL 1.250.
