Recoil Spring replacement?

Mine is at roughly 18,000 rounds so it is a bit overdue. Now I guess it is just an issue of keeping it stock or lighter weight. I'd like to speed up the cycling of the gun with Atlanta Arms 147 grain load (130 PF). So I'm thinking a 15 lb spring, maybe 13 lb. Any recommendations?

Thanks

If 13lbs will work for you then thats a popular choice. I personally had issues with even the 14 lbs Wolff spring in my gun (wouldn't consistently return it to battery) so I ended up returning to stock (16 lbs). I intend to give a 15 lbs spring a try eventually but my current load (3.6gr Unique under a 147gr Bayou bullet - makes around 134pf out of my gun) is cycling fine with the stock spring so I haven't been too worried about it.

"The guru" told me that the factory schedule is 5k rounds, with the 16#. He has gone past 10k every time without issue.

I run a 13# with the same load as 9x23Guy, and go upwards of 8k before I I start to worry about it. I've yet to have an issue with the gun returning to battery, after keeping this schedule for about 25k rounds now.

My current spring is probably closer to 10k, come to think of it...

You'll definitely know when it's getting a little sloppy; I've never really kept a count, just changed when the "feel" was off and haven't run into a problem as of yet. (Probably jinxed myself...)

I replaced the recoil spring since it had almost 20,000 rounds on it.

I have been having an issue with the gun not going back into battery which got me thinking about the recoil spring. I think I have narrowed the issue down to an ammo issue (Atlanta Arms 147 grain). The issue did not change at all after changing the recoil spring or changing mags, but went away with ammo from a different lot number.

Now I just have to find an ammo solution for GA state next month.
