rarbitter
Hello All, I am new to competition shooting and interested in learning more about it. This seems like a great forum. I have a Glock 34 Gen 3, Glock 19 Gen 4, and a Glock 32 Gen 4. The Glock 32 is for CCW. I have the opportunity to purchase another Glock Gen 4 with 3 high capacity mags for $425. Any recommendations? Still reading up on the differences between the IDPA and IPSC/USPSA. Thanks, Robert
jwhittin
Hey Robert. Use to live in your area. Now in Colorado. Ever try a 1911? I like to harass the glockers. I've tried them but do not care for them at all. 1911 all the way!!! Joel Edited August 28, 2012 by jwhittin
lumpygravy
Welcome to a fellow CA shooter! There are a number of clubs in the inner SF Bay Area, Richmond Rod & Gun (Richmond Hotshots) and Chabot (TASC) come to mind and they both have new shooter orientation classes. You can find other local clubs at actionpistol.org and uspsa.org. I'd encourage you to take one of the new shooter orientation classes. For a nominal fee (usually ~$25-30) you receive classroom and range time dedicated to the sport of practical shooting. It sounds like you have the major hardware already handled and there are only minimal gear (belt, holster and mag carriers) and ammo requirements (~200-250 rounds). Taking the class often includes a voucher for a free pass to your first match. I shoot at Richmond most every weekend where they host a practice day on Saturday and a rotating match schedule on Sundays. See you on the range! D.Hayden
Another close club is Diablo Action Pistol., Just off Hiway 4 and Elmira. Memebers only, but it's very cheap. They shoot USPSA and IDPA style games, and 3 Gun
