Browning Buckmark: what base model to start for SC

Looking to get a browning buckmark and start shooting steel challenge with it. Down the road maybey turn it into an open rimfire pistol. Is just the camper model good enough to get started or does another model make a better base to start with?

My Buckmark has the standard grip. I had aluminum panels made that attach to the grip frame aend accept 1911 grips. The gun has the grip angle and width of a single stack. If you are not going to change the grip the URX grip is s good as it ge ts from the factory.

So far so good, got some Winchester Xpert 22, Federal bulk and remington bulk ammo and running fine. Only complaint is that once I sight it in for one brand another brand is 2" to 8" off. And at first just a quick zero hitting dead on at 10 yds, back up to 25 yards and its 8" high? Kind of just wondering what a good zero distance would be.

I zero for point of impact at 25 yards, which will be about 1" to 1.5" low at 10 yards (center of C-More lens to bore), it's better to be centered on the farther targets than perfectly centered on the closer ones.

I was thinking 20~25yd zero should be good enough for SC type stages. Thanks
