Model 41 Clark Barrel

Just a heads up, I assumed that the Clark Steel Challange barrel would run with CCI ammo, since thats what Smith and Wesson M-41 normaly live on.

Something about the chamber diminsions wouldn't let the round fully chamber. Hammer would fall and i'd get a light primer strike.

Took me a while to figure the CCI rounds were the problem. Federal works fine and I'm getting good results with the Federal Auto Match on paper.

I use CCI Standard Velocity exclusively in my Clark STC barrel. However, I had to ream the chamber as my gun would not extract the unfired round from the stock Clark barrel at the end of a stage. I guess I should have tried the Federal stuff first.

I have a friend who has a Clark barrel on her 41. It has an extremely tight chber and has been back to Clark a couple times and nothings changed. She puts a drop of oil on the top bullet in each mag and it works pretty good.

Yes, I sent mine back to Clark also, and they allegedly "polished" the chamber, but function (or lack thereof) was exactly the same after I got it back - it was as though they did not even look at it. I had a local gunsmith ream the chamber for me and now extraction of unfired rounds is maybe 80-90%. I do love the barrel, however. I believe it would put 10 rounds in the same hole from a machine rest.
