Javaman
I installed the classic trigger in my G34 yesterday. I did not get the grandmaster kit, only the basic classic, no aftermarket striker. It was really pretty easy to put in with his instructions (on website). I used the 4.5# striker spring (medium weight) instead of the 4# because I am afraid of light strikes w/out the Jaeger striker. It feels pretty good, definitely better than stock, but, as Charlie himself said, this is a striker-fired pistol and you ain't gonna get a 1911 trigger out of it. I am pleased with it, though I haven't actually shot it yet, just dry-fire. I think to get the full effect one would have to go with the Jaeger striker and the light spring, but I'm good as is. Can't wait to get out to the range.
Jonathan Taliani
I'd definitely consider getting the Jager striker in the future. IMO, that is what makes the kit.
Derrick
I bought the grandmaster classic and tried it with the stock firing pin and then put the jäger in and you truly need to try that firing pin it makes the trigger pull so much smoother and lighter. I love mine
Javaman
In what way does it change the feel? I guess I would only see the springs, trigger bar, connector, and safety plunger angles, weights, and/or polishing as having any bearing on the trigger's actual pull weight and feel. I thought the only reason for the Jaeger striker was to be able to use the very lightest striker spring and still get good firing pin strikes? How is a 1/2# lighter firing pin spring going to change the feel that much? I actually don't doubt what you say, I just wish someone could explain how it creates that big a difference. Thanks. DRJ1911
I have been spending a lot of time on his site lately my self. All my Glock's have std trigger's and I want to try something new. I have been looking at Zev also but have no idea what to buy. I just want a very good trigger for range and informal plate match's. Congrats on the new trigger. Javaman
Well, I tried it with the medium striker spring and the light one; I don't like the feel of the light one at all. Too mushy, can't feel my finger engage the trigger very well. Much prefer the medium, and, I think I will put the heaviest spring in tonight and see what that feels like. Too a point, I don't like to trade weight for crispness in a trigger, and the heavier spring is definitely crisper. I guess that I'm finding out that a Glock trigger is always going to be a Glock trigger: it's never going to feel like a tuned-up 2# rifle trigger. I will say that it is a hell of a lot smoother now, with any of the springs. In the end, it's not going to matter too much, as I am a pretty poor pistol shooter with any trigger!
