Ian30000
I am new to multigun and I am looking to improve my rifle for competion and have come to an impass. Should I just get a new trigger and extended handgaurd for my curent rifle or should I splurge on a rifle built for competion like a loki or stag. etc. etc? I realise the best way to get better is to shoot but the stock trigger at this point is holding me back so I need to do something. My curent rifle is a Stag 3hl upper on a dpms lower assembled by me. michael1778
One thing to consider is the type of matches you will attend. Me getting a Loki custom-built rifle could well be considered overkill for my regional matches that are at 200 yards or less. I bought with the idea of going to larger matches and then had some serious health issues from which I am almost completely recovered. I'm a "Buy Once, Cry Once" kind of guy. But I also think you should be sure you need that particular level of performance or whatever before you start the buying and crying. So, please give all those factors careful consideration. You already have a good starting point. I would sell your upper and get one that is built how you want and then put a trigger on your lower. tagacali
If budget is not an issue, I would build my own from the ground up. Billet upper, blackout 300 barrel....etc
Alaskapopo
If budget is not an issue, I would build my own from the ground up. Billet upper, blackout 300 barrel....etc The .300 Blackout is a poor choice for three gun. 90% of the matches out there don't have power factor rules its just 1 in the A or 2 on paper. There is no point advantage to the .300 Blackout and it has a huge disadvantage as you go past 200 yards. The 5.56 is the king of the three gun calibers. Ian30000
Alright my plan so far is to pick up either a Geissele single stage trigger for my current gun then later on replace my current upper with a Stag 3GHL.
Sthrngnr
Or just a thought , get a Nordic 18" competition barrel(.223 wylde),rifle length gas, a FFT, and a CMC trigger . Oh and get a good compensator ( many to choose from). Good luck JP
Ian30000
Unfortunately I do not have the tools nor the room in my current living arrangement to build the upper myself. A small garage that I can't use in the winter and an apartment means no workshop for me.
