Dark Knight Rises

Recommended Posts

Went with my wife to see it. I liked it too. Very true to the first two. So much in fact that I recommend watching them again before seeing this one.

And one more thing. Anne Hathaway is great in this movie.

Ahhh, I wouldn't say rocked. I'd say very good. It lacks a performance like Heath's, kinda expected that though. At times I thought it was moving kinda slow.

Follows the Rocky game plan, get beat, battle with your emotions, train, then re fight antogonist and win.

It wraps up the trilogy nicely and without the other two in the series, it would be a blockbuster anyway. So go see it.

Saw it last night with my kid.

Good round up for the series. It has the usual action and bat type gadgets, but mixed with a substantial evolving story line. The thing that makes this series stand far above the rest of the super hero types is the way they smartly tie it all together. Almost has a 'Lord of the Rings' feel in that the story carries so strongly through each installment. The commitment from the production people to stick to the story instead of total flash and bang must have been a big reason why they could attract and retain such big stars. All of the actors in all of the films were good, but if Michael Caine hadn't been in all three I'm not sure any of it would have been the same. His character more than any, keeps the story alive. And thats a statement with supporting actors like Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman in the mix!

The good:

It's the bad assed batman again. Nuff said...

Anne Hathaway is stunning.

Back to just one bad guy. And he is a baaaad guy! Really liked this bad guy except at the very end his part gets a little weak, but it's for the benefit of the story so...

Anne Hathaway is smoking hot.

It's the bad assed batman again and in case I forgot Anne Hathaway is totally hot.

The bad:

The bat toys weren't as good.

The cat woman outfit shows like no skin. Major costume flaw...

The biggest bad part of this is that they leave you with a story that has more to tell, but I think we all know that this is the end for this version. In a few years some other team of producers and cast will try the story again. Too bad. This team really put the story together well...

The Dark Knight Rises rocked.

That is all.

Not trying to be a nudge, but could you expand on this?

It was a very satisfying conclusion to the Trilogy. They introduced a few new characters into the mix and they all worked pretty well. The story went in some interesting and unexpected directions.

Anne Hathaway pretty much stole the show as Catwoman.

Regarding the action in the movie and how there were fewer "bat toys"... this is true. I personally liked that. They have already sort of "done" the stuff with batman having cool toys. They didn't beat you over the head with that stuff in the movie because they already did it. They put the focus on the story.

I really liked it. I like movies, I go to a lot of movies, and this is the best one I have seen recently (and yes I saw The Avengers).

I didn't miss the joker a bit. They did that whole thing in 2008 and I totally loved it… but having someone new to fight ended up being much more interesting than just having a retread.

Just got back from seeing it and I mostly agree. I go to movies for entertainment, not some deep meaning. The movie succeeded on that point.

I think Bane was a bust. Several times his words were unintelligible. There were other times I understood what he was saying, but the gestures didn't match.

I liked the last 90 or so seconds wrapping up the movie, but I wouldn't say this is a blockbuster. Supposedly $250 million to make it and another $150 million on worldwide publicity. I don't think it'll break any profit records.

IMO, the 2d of the Christian Bale series was the best.

At least there is room for a Nightwing sequel.

I'm talking performance and acting. I wouldn't want a retread either and totally agree with you. Just kinda hard to follow up that kind of acting. Bane was good as a bad guy. But I couldn't point to one character and say, "wow, that's some great acting". I did however say "wow, catwoman is sexy"

Acting wise I think catwoman and alfred sort of stole the show.

They can't do Nightwing. There was no Jean-Paul Valley.......

Dark Night Rises went completly away from comic series and ruined it for me.

I had very high hopes but was EXTREMELY disapointed with it.
