roostershooter
Without letting the cat out of the bag, I am in the home stretch of completing a book project that I've been working on for some time now. Over the next few months I will be loading and testing various powders and projectiles for inclusion in the 'Load Data' section of the book. Right now, I am in need of 'Pet Loads' for the listed calibers ONLY using VihtaVuori N320, N330, & N 340. Please include all of the variables required to load this cartridge to your specs. ie ... case length, bullet, seating depth, oal, crimp, etc ... Thanks for your help! The following calibers needed are as follows: 9mm 10mm 45 ACP 40 S&W For the record ... all loads will be tested and double tested prior to inclusion. OUshooter
I've not seen where a specific "crimp" makes a difference one way or the other. I just adjust the die 1/16th of a turn until the flare is removed so I don't have that data recorded anywhere. .40 S&W Glock 35 KKM barrel mixed range brass sized with EGW die Fed SPP 170grn LWSC N340 4.8grn COL = 1.125" PF = 166 .40 S&W Glock 35 KKM barrel mixed range brass sized with EGW die Fed SPP 180grn RN plated N340 4.6grn COL = 1.135" PF = 150 .40 S&W Glock 35 KKM barrel mixed range brass sized with EGW die Fed SPP 180grn RN plated N340 5.0grn COL = 1.135" PF = 156 .40 S&W Glock 35 KKM barrel mixed range brass sized with EGW die Fed SPP 180grn RN plated N340 5.4grn COL = 1.135" PF = 169 .40 S&W Glock 35 KKM barrel mixed range brass sized with EGW die Fed SPP 180grn RN FMJ N340 5.7grn COL = 1.135" PF = 178 .40 S&W Glock 35 KKM barrel mixed range brass sized with EGW die Fed SPP 180grn RN plated N340 5.5grn COL = 1.135" PF =

roostershooter
I've checked and double checked all of these loads, and they are considered 'safe' by any manual I've run them through. Keep them coming guys. You're giving me some promising results.
blaster113
My .40 major match load with N320 for my 6" Camerons .40 Limited gun; N320 5.4 grains 165 Zero jhp Rem 1x fired case Fed SR primer oal 1.180" chronoed 170.7 at this past Area 1. two of the rounds over the chrono were about 1050 with a slow round lowering the avg. will be dropping the charge to 5.3 grains and try to get more consistent powder drops out of my 650. 5.3 grains feels real nice in my local match loads and should make 168-170 if I can get my powder drops to be consistent. crimp was adjusted to meet SAAMI spec. I dont bother measuring case oal for handgun ammo. match ammo is either 1x fired cases out of my pistols or new. when I used to use 180 gr jhps with my 5" guns I used 4.7 grains of N320 with the same oal, cases and primers. At A1 in 2011 that load chronoed 168.7 out of a 5" Brazos. real soft, almost felt like a minor load haha.
