robot
had a bad day over the weekend shooting in the slot match that ended up with a DQ. Two CROs who are local were commenting on my YouTube channel that it might have not been a DQ-able offense. What do you guys think?
JorDanO
Other than the RO not using the proper range command to stop you, seems pretty clear cut to me 10.4.3 A shot which occurs while loading, reloading or unloading a handgun. This includes any shot fired during the procedures outlined in Rule 8.3.1 and Rule 8.3.7.
gng4life
This is probably better suited for the rules section but it looks as if (hard to judge from pics or vids sometimes) the call is right - DQ Before that, good shooting though...
BLUTO
If you hadnt reacted to it when it happened the argument could have been made that you were taking a make up shot. I had that happen to me and it was deemed an "un-aimed shot" - not sure where that falls in the rulebook.
gng4life
... an "un-aimed shot" - not sure where that falls in the rulebook. That is probably 10.4.6: 10.4.6 A shot which occurs during movement, except while actually shooting at targets.
Sarge
Even though video can not be used to judge these things that video is pretty damning. Finger is on the trigger, gun pointed up, backing away, clearly not shooting at targets anymore. What rule did they DQ you under? The reason I ask is, the guys who said it might not be a DQ could argue that it was not actually during the reloading if it happened in the blink of an eye. Might have been USG more than during reload? For that to have not been a DQ it would have been based off of using the wrong rule. It was not so clearly an AD as it was USG. Poppa Bear
It is hard to judge the muzzles elevation from the video but the only potential DQ I see is: 10.4.1 A shot, which travels over a backstop, a berm or in any other direction specified in the written stage briefing by the match organizers as being unsafe. Note that a competitor who legitimately fires a shot at a target, which then travels in an unsafe direction, will not be disqualified (the provisions of Section 2.3 may apply). I went over it slow several times and the magazine was still in the gun when it discharged, and he ejected a live round.
remoandiris
I noticed you don't always wait for the RO to say "If you are finished...", you just go thru the process. There have been times I've told a shooter to show clear again if they moved faster than I did.
Skydiver
Off topic: I think this past Sunday was rough on all of us. I was trying to pull my hair out in frustration trying to get data to sync among the PractiScore devices and get all the data back into EzWinScore. About an hour later, I finally had all the data, and there were 5 missing scoresheets. 4 was accounted for because of the piece of paper noting that person's DQ, but robot's DQ was not on the stats desk to account for the last missing scoresheet. It was more hair pulling until somebody mentioned the DQ. Back on topic: Since I didn't see the DQ report on the stats desk, I don't know what rule was used.
