roostershooter
Am I the only person who sees something wrong with these pictures? I picked up this pistol last week, and this is the condition of the slide. I just noticed this today in the sunlight, and I haven't done anything to this pistol other than clean it with Ballistol. It was like this when I bought it, but thought maybe it was finger marks from handling in the shop. Am I being unreasonable here? I expect a NEW gun to look NEW! What would you do? Clint-M
That's how the new Glock finish looks on all my Gen 4's. I prefer the older black finish but some people found it too slick so they changed it to the gray that always looks smudged. Still functions fine and holds up to kydex pretty well. So it isn't 'pre-rust' smudges? If I don't like that finish what is the best aftermarket coating to finish it in? I'm a Duracoat Applicator, but don't want to put Duracoat on a slide that will be taking this much abuse. I mainly Duracoat AR & Rifle parts. Parts that don't get a lot of wear from holstering. Clint-M
Mine haven't shown any signs of rust, just the fingers prints showing up, but those are easily wiped away. If you want to have it refinished I would look at our forum sponsors to see what you like best. Freedom Gunworks and Cheely Custom both offer refinishing and their pistols are always amazing looking. CM Those aren't fingerprints. They're actually where the finish is uneven. I wear gloves when I shoot, and powder free latex gloves when I'm cleaning my guns. Suicycle
I thought Glock canned the tennifer treatment for the US made guns, thus the new coating?

Atlgentlegiant
I thought Glock canned the tennifer treatment for the US made guns, thus the new coating? I talked with a Glock employee this weekend. The US made guns are not for sale to the general public in the US. Seems they are being made for LE, Military and foreign gov contract fulfillment. All of the guns sold to the general public in the US still come from Austria.
