StealthyBlagga
My old CV-500 is vibrating only very weakly. The motor is running OK and the weight is causing the bowl to vibrate, but it is a lot less vigorous than normal. It is also a lot quieter. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong? z40acp
Are the mounts broke? Does it look like it is running full speed?

StealthyBlagga
Are the mounts broke? Does it look like it is running full speed? Mounts look OK, but I've not had it apart. I'm not sure how to measure the speed, but it sounds like it is running at reduced (half?) speed. Is the weight tight on the shaft? The weight is secure and spinning easily/smoothly. Everything looks fine - it's just the greatly muted sound that tells me it is running with less vigor (speed?). Also, it sounds like the motor speed is varying in speed - faster then slower, faster then slower, with a period of maybe 1-2 seconds... a sort of subtle "wah-wah-wah". I left it running for a couple of hours today, and the motor and bowl (even the brass) were pretty hot at the end, but probably no more than I would expect in my garage in the middle of the AZ summer. Brass came out nice and shiny, so the system is still doing the job. Edited July 16, 2012 by StealthyBlagga
Sarge
Mine gets really hot as well. Might be getting burned out.
John Wayne
Lots of info on this if you search. I had the exact same issue. Dillon will rebuild it for a fee to the cv-750 size. Runs like a banshee now.
GBertolet
Mine ran the same way before the motor died. Possibly windings going bad. At my last check, Dillon wanted $105 to replace the motor with the CV750 motor, which is the designated replacement motor now. This includes an upgraded mount and return shipping. It's your call to deceide whether it's worth it or not.
mjohn
What happened to the "No BS Warranty?" Any reason it does not apply?
GR8GIFT
They warranty electronics differently. Only 1 year I think.
twodownzero
Throw it away and get a cheap tumbler from Midway. They stand behind it. If you need a bigger tumbler, get two.
Steve RA
Think you can get extended warranties from Harbor Freight on theirs, not very expensive if I remember correctly.
