Craig N
I am prepping for a new STI Eagle in 40 cal. I want to run it in IDPA ESP so I only need to make minor power factors. Given that you have to load .055 longer is there any resources (web site, loading manual) that tells you what the common substitution are? Like the 180 over 3.2 grs of Clays would have to have more powder to get to the same MV since it's longer now. Anything like that?
Croomrider
I load 40 minor for my son who shoots a G35 in production. His current load is 2.9gr of clays over a 180gr LTC bullet gives him 136 PF and is a very nice load to shoot. It is loaded to 1.13 OAL. If I were you I would probably shoot 3.0-3.2 grains of clays using a 180 gr bullet that was loaded longer. It should get you started with a comfortable load and you can go from there! RH45
Every barrel, and brand of bullet chronos different, but, I think 3.2 of Clays should get you about where you want to be.
