earplug
Took me many years of figuring out that my empty moons were very slightly hitting the edge of my stock S&W Hogue stocks. I thought I was soft stroking the ejector rod, when it was the moons hitting the rubber stocks. File and sand paper made my last match much better. Didn't have to jiggle or flip the gun to clear the empty moons. Found this out while checking my reloads prior to a match.

Bill Nesbitt
Had the same issue with my N frames and Big Butt stocks. Here's my fix. Buckaroo, what's that stuff on your backstrap? I think I need some if it holds up.
warpspeed
It was the first thing I did. In fact, I sanded the crap out of them until the fit.
buckaroo45
Ahoy Bill, That stuff on the backstrap is a Dr Scholls "Heel Gripper" from the shoe insert section at my local Wallgreens Drug Store. They come 2 to a pack and will last me 30+ stages in the South Florida heat. When they need replacement I just clean any glue residue off w/ a little rubbing alcohol and slap a new one on. I've never had to replace one during a match but I suspect they'd stick just fine w/o the clean up. They change the presentation angle down just a bit, give me a higher more secure grip and supply a little cushion effect on long stages. All pluses with MY hands. At 65 w/ neuropathy of the hands I need all the help I can get. Truly the best thing I've done is cut the left ear off the stocks. Chopping on a set of $130 stocks was a leap of faith that paid off. Your results may vary.
