dirtnap
When I try to shoot with any type of quick follow up, I notice that the rifle pulls to the right, and slightly down. I've got a Bushmaster Carbon 15. I tried a Spikes tungsten buffer that calmed it down a bit, but not very much. Please let me know any ideas on what this might be or what I can do to lessen this even further. I am still fairly green when it comes to troubleshooting. Thanks in advance. HRider
The rifle is torqueing from the barrel twist. Changing comps (or adding a comp) can help this (the torque will still be there, but gas vectoring will work to counteract it). Some people clock their comps to around 1 o'clock to help compensate for the push. Their are comps, such as the Benny Hill Rolling Thunder, that have a hole in the side that will allow you to tune the rifle to you, you just keep opening the hole up in small increments until the rifle resets straight. As far as the reseting low or high, the comp, spring rate, reciprocating mass, gas system length, and the particular load that you are using all play a part in that. Puma
I agree with HRider. A muzzle brake should help. I have spent a few dollars and lots of range time experimenting. I recommend the MSTN Quiet Brake. It is mall, 'relatively' quiet and effective. If you have lots of patience are mechanically inclined and want to do something crazy try the EFFIN-A Muzzle Brake. It can be tuned to your shooting style, load and rifle. And it is the flattest and quietest of anything in the market.
