BobS761
We loaded 10 rounds with 4.2 gr titegroup, cast lead TC average 183 gr, CCI primers, at 1.125. Chrono at 950 fps. Does anyone see any problem dropping to 3.7 grains? I'm hoping to make minor PF with the titegroup. Shooting XDm 4.5. Thanks, B
DRAB81
You should be able to make minor @ 3.5gr or less with a lead bullet, so dropping to 3.7gr will be fine. You may need to get a reduced power recoil spring though, I've read that the XD/XDm's factory recoil spring doesn't seem to like the 180's below 140-145pf. Retread1911
I have had better luck lowering the bullet weight to go from major to minor loads in 40. The problem I had was placement at 30 feet. I load 180 grain lead for major and 155 jacked for minor with the same 4.9 grain win231 load. Bullet impact is very similar.
