jmorris
Now you're thinking hard about this aren't you JM! Holding plates well enough so they only drop off when struck by a bullet and droping off consistantly when hit is always the hard part. Thats why anyone with a welder can make a plate rack and there is only a few versions of "star targets". The only method I have used that had no moving parts (well at least for a few shots) was a magnet. The spring on the MGM unit is only one moving part but is not as consistant as Terry's original TX Star.If its a super secret I can wait until you have something built. SteelShooten
I once built a target that used magnets to hold the target plates on a movable arm. The prototype works well as a rimfire target but I doubt it would have much service life if subjected to steady centerfire punishment.
