carbonman556
Does anyone use N350 for reloading 40? I'm looking for a recipe...I am using 180gn plated bullets and need to make major pf.
DougCarden
That powder is too slow for what you want. You will have more recoil than you want, and it will be dirty as well. You want something like titegroup, w231, Solo 1000, VV 320 or 340..... DougC
carbonman556
Why would it be dirty? I thought the VV powders were clean burning?
DougCarden
For the power factor you want it, compared to the other powders, will not burn as completely, and be considered "dirtier" than the other powders. DougC....ps try it and let us know how it works for you, but compared to other faster powders you will notice a difference.

wdlong1
tried it and everything he said is true -- lots of recoil and dirty as hell from unburned residue. But I would not have believed any of it without trying so you should certainly work up a load and see what you think. I now an strictly n320 for 40 major. Braxton1
4.7 to 5.0 of N-320, depending on length, should make a good Major Power Factor load. If you're loading short, 4.7; long takes 5.0.
