Unexpectedly meeting another IPSC’er

I had been toying with the idea of getting a new O/U shotgun for the games and was casually keeping an eye out for a decent deal. Saw something I liked in the classifieds on one of the popular shotgun forums, but wasn’t a member so I joined just to ask a few questions about the gun. Wasn’t expecting much as I only had 1 post-count which was a response to his ad (rightfully so that can be a warning sign), but he was gracious and we ended up talking on the phone. Turns out he is an active IPSC shooter and we talked about that for a while. Ended up getting the shotgun, and it by far the easiest and most relaxed transaction I had ever done. Quality people in this sport (and IDPA, too), and they show up in the darndest places. I like that.

Yeah, when a UPS guy came to up while I was in the middle of a loading session, I didn't close the door to my reloading room all the way and there was a clear view from the entrance door. He recognized the big blue press right away. We talked IPSC, reloading, not having very many air rifle/smallbore matches around here, and various other shooting things for a while before he had to head out for his next delivery.
