Day 2: Great improvement. Less mistakes getting through the drills. Tomorrow will be all about getting the "asp". Today was a little sloppy with the sight picture.

Been thinking lately, why didn't I dry fire over the summer?

because you were too busy going to every match in the state? :roflol:

Well Chris, time to upgrade your old antique timer. Your now in a new mode... :)

Rob, I got to thinking... I shot

~24 USPSA matches

~14 SCSA matches

~16 FNS matches

1 IDPA match

I missed out on all the Cowboy, 3G, and most of the IDPA matches... next year...

Edit: I just realized I went to at least 54 matches this year. That's sweat!

Day 3 SA drills 1-12. Went well. Took just about an hour. Focused on sight picture. I was able to meet par times and get ASP. It was sweet. Im reducing par times on some drills as needed.

Thursday I shot 2 rounds of trap at MCFG. It was like shooting swingers, but you never know which direction they are going. Ehh, I will go back sometime... not really that interested in investing the time to be good at it.

Friday I went to FNS at MCFG. I won the single stack division. There are some Production guys that are really stepping it up. May need to get a production setup so I can compete with them :) lesson learned last night; only thinking about calling your shots really works!!!!!!!!!!!! Let your subconscious do the rest!

Today was day 4 of S.A. dryfire drills 1-12. Definitely getting a hand of the draw drills. I need refinement on 8-12. Hitting those hard next week!

So i went to an ICORE match this morning. Shot outlaw division. Its weird to only shoot 6 shots between mag changes. It was fun.

Rob came out and I got to practice some movement drills. It feels good to be explosive and smooth. I'm going to be good at this.

Came home and ran through SA drills 1-12. No gain on 1-8, but big advances in 8-12. Im going to work in a couple new drills this week.

Yesterday: S.A. drills 8-27. It was FUN!!! Going to try to do those drills two times a week.

Today: S.A. drills 1-12. Huge improvement in 8-12. Turn and draw doesn't feel foreign anymore. This is awesome.

Shot one bracket of a dueling texas star match today. It was cold! 29°f. I lacked drive to be fast. I got wrapped up in the glory of watching the front sight lift and return. It was neat, but caused me to lose in the second round.

Ah well. Tested a new recipe for the SS gun. Going to run 230gr LRN bullets or a while. They should be better for the bowling pin matches this summer. Going to spend the long weekend reloading. Sweet!

I haven't dry fired since Christmas Eve. It was a good practice, Steve Anderson was totally correct about training your body to operate faster. I'm beginning to be able to actually see more at speed. It's awesome.

Last night I spent two hours picking lead out of my the open gun. That was an experience... I've got the money together finally to get that thing re-barrelled. Awesome! Going to order the barrel after the new year.

I need to get going on getting my SS belt and holster set up. Got to start dry fire with a skinny gun. That will be fun or scary....

Drills 1-12 today after work. Its date night so i ran through them quickly. Noticed that my upper body is no longer square to the target. My stance is little isosceles now with my right side back about an inch.... I don't know if that's bad thing. I my shoulders aren't hunched over. I'll dig into it more tomorrow.

Date night tonight and Snowboarding tomorrow!!!

Snowboarding was fun. I'm kinda beat up. Wrist hurts, head kinda hurts, and my whole body is sore.

Regardless I strapped on my belt, and through drills 1-12. Figured out what was up with my stance. So I was clipping the timer on an unused mag pouch, right where my arm should naturally rest. I was turning my torso to allow my arm to rest. Simple fix, I moved my timer. Now its all good. Everything was sloppy and slow. My body aches. Going to bed

S.A. drills 1-21 today after work. Now that I've got this routine down, pretty much expect that I'm picking up a gun everyday. I'm only going to post when I come across a breakthrough or hit a rough patch.

So my right hand is looking pretty bad. I've got rough callus' on every finger and one on webbing between my thumb and pointer finger. I've tried to scrap off the one on my pinky finger, with little results. Guess I am going to have to sand it down....

Speaking of sanding. The polymer grip on my Eagle is getting some serious groves in it from reload practice. I need to get the files and sandpaper out to smooth those over a little.

Broke a par time last night for a dry fire El Prez. 4.0!!! I've been close for a while, but the sights weren't on the A zone. Last night, I ripped 3 in a row! It was a good night.

Well I'm plugging away at par times. HUGE improvements with turn & draw and reloads. Everything is becoming second nature almost. Seeing the sights snap to the A-zone much more... that's awesome.

One month into dry fire, now asking myself why I didn't do this all summer.
