sam sanfilippo
What is the purpose of the O ring that is found on certain models of H&K pistols?
DerrickJ
The idea is that it aids in consistent slide to barrel lock up. The barrels with an O-Ring are a little tougher to remove while field stripping because they do indeed lock in tighter. As for the increase in accuracy? I have not noticed a difference with the O-Ring installed or removed. I guess it can't hurt though!

sig228
It is stated by H&K that the O ring provides the seal between the slide and the barrel, which provides a secure lockup with increased accuracy. I have the H&K 45c, and to date, the O ring shows no wear ...
