Hammar
I find the 8 is easier to pick up in bright sunlight.

Aircooled6racer
Hello: On my 22 steel pistol I use a 16MOA--yes a 16 and turn the dot down for small plates. On my open 9mm pistol I use a 12MOA dot and turn the dot up or down depending on the targets. I think it will depend on your eyes and also the brightness of the sun where you are. Here in Albuquerque the sun is bright and the air is thin. At sea level a 8 MOA dot would work for me. Thanks, Eric
