feederic
I have had many outings now where both strong and weak hand shooting produce FTFs in my 2011. At first I thought it was soley a limp wristing issue, but even at the range with all sorts of grip pressure and stance mods I can't seem to keep the FTFs down. Is there any thing I can do to help the gun feed smoother? I don't seem to have this problem with my other 2011, 1911, or G35. Recoil spring is a 12 lb sprinco, Aftec Extractor, tuned mags, and factory ammo.
lilbeauxdawg
Is your thumb dragging on the slide while shooting one handed possibly slowing down the cycle.
feederic
I don't believe so. But I will check again at the range. I have an identical pistol without this issue that I've ran side by side.
bobtorre
So what was the final outcome?
feederic
I am hesitant to say, but I think it was a combo of the bullet profile and my arm swinging around wildly during recoil. Limp arming? With my reloads and same bullet profile (loaded much longer), I have not had any issues. Berry's flat point round nose are what I am using, I get them for the same price per thousand as cast lead. Even though I had zero issues with 4k factory rounds, they did not feed entirely smoothly. My reloads zip right into the chamber. Edited June 5, 2012 by feederic
