3quartertime
Indiana's newest USPSA affiliated club, Central Indiana Practical Shooters, will host the 2004 Indiana State Championship match. The match will be conducted at the Atlanta Conservation Club in Atlanta, Indiana on Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25. (There will be a limited number of slots available to shoot with the RO staff on Friday, July 23.) This match will consist of 8 challenging courses of fire plus a chrono stage and will require 170+ rounds of ammunition. We will again utilize a half-day shooting format to allow travel to, shooting, and departure from the match in one day. Register early to ensure your schedule and squad assignment preference. An online registration form is available at http://www.moxiecreative.com/inStateMatch/. A map with directions to the range from I69 is available at http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=g43L2...a+IN&country=us. You may contact Walt Rosenquist at instatematch04@comcast.net for additional information Directions from I69: Take exit 45, state highway 28, and go west about 15 miles to state road 213. Turn left(south) and go 4.6 miles to where the road Y's. Go straight to stop sign turn right(west) onto 296th street. Go 2.9 miles to Leonard Road, turn left and you're at the club. 3quartertime
any hotels you all could recommend. I'm checking on that now, but the range is only about 30 minutes from the north side of Indy and not far south of Kokomo. Each should be pretty open for the weekend. I'll relay any info I come up with asap...
BigDave
Near I-465 and US 31 (North) I know that there is a Residence Inn and a Courtyard. The next interchange to the west, 1 mile or so, (I-465 and Michigan Rd.) there are more choices; Residence Inn, Holiday Inn Select, Comfort Inn, Dollar Inn, Fairfield Inn, Quality Inn. Just to add some clarity to 3QT's fine directions: If you are coming from the west; from I-465 take US 31 north. Continue north on US 31 to 296th Street/County Line/Leonard road and turn right (east). 296th Street isn't marked clearly. It is the Hamilton/Tipton County line road (aka Leonard Rd). On the south side of the corner is a church and on the north side is a pie shop (large metal building). Turn right (east) there. Continue another 6 miles or so till you come to a stop sign. Once you are at the stop sign you are approx 1 mile from the range. Continue straight through the intersection. Once it seems you are through the small town, start looking to your right. There's the range.
3quartertime
Thanks Dave, I just pasted from the Area 5 web announcement. I think better advise would be to just follow the Ohio Delegation to the range. I think they left bread crums after thier last ' lost in rural Indiana ' expedition... ( cue the Deliverance theme...) The non-marked 296th street business is actually 'Lisa's Pie Shop', that's the way I find it. I'll make sure we get a sign out on that intersection early Friday Morning. Probably an IPSC target with an arrow or something.

twix
Directions: If you're headed north on 31 at about 256th street you will see "Wilsons Fruit Market", the shingles on the roof say Wilsons. You are getting close to the pie shop. Eats: Before you got to Wilsons you passed a couple of Diners on the east side of the road. I can vouch for Georges. Big portions, reasonably priced. Hotels: There are a bunch of hotels around the 465 /I69 exchange on the northeast sideof Indianapolis. The match is about a half an hour from there. Take I 69 north to the Noblesville 116th st exit. Follow it towards Noblesville, you are heading north on US37. Follow it all the way through Strawtown, right after you cross the bridge over the White River turn left onto US213. Take this about ten miles and it will take a sweeping left (you have to turn). Follow this to the range on your left, about 5 miles. TriggerT: I am the C shooter in squad 26. I'm pretty excited. Sunday AM.
rhino
To make sure you hit the right turn from US31, please note that 296th Street (in Hamilton Co.) is also County Road 600 South (in Tipton Co.), as the road is on the county line. Addresses on the north side of the road are according to CR 600 South, and those on the south side are numbered according to 296th Street. So ... the road you want from US31 is designated 600 South on one of those little green signs. Your landmark at the corner is Lisa's Pie Shop. There is also a small green sign that says "East Union" right before the intersection. As far as hotels go, the closest I've found to the range is the Best Western in WESTFIELD, Indiana, and it's right on US31. Here is the info: http://travel.travelocity.com/yhoe/hotel/H...890784082672006 BW WESTFIELD INN 17650 US 31 NORTH Westfield, IN 46074 It doesn't show the telephone number, but you should be able to get that from information. Westfield and Carmel are the two closest towns to the range that are likely to have suitable lodgings.
