Gimpy_ak
I've been strolling around this sub-forum and havent really found an answer. I just moved up to limited from production and bought a Dawson tuned Edge and a CR-Speed holster. If I was to order a TM Hi-capa would i order the 5.1 or the 4.3? I want to be able to use the holster for both without changing anything. Thanks in advance. Edited April 23, 2012 by Gimpy_ak

Carmine
Hi Guys. I had a Custom 5.1 built last year. As far as getting your moneys' worth.....you may need to spend a few bucks as to extend the life of your gun. Better internals shuch as Hammer,Sear,Safety and Internal and external barrel. Airsoft Surgeon is going to be your new buddy! Best of luck to you. Edited October 3, 2012 by Carmine
ktm300
I got a TM Hi-Capa 5.1 and while it lasted it ran and shot well. I was shooting the other day and the rear sight just fell apart, little parts and springs went everywhere. Probably my fault, I was running green gas in it. I have a great place to practice in my basement, it's an old house with 5 rooms in the basement for a total of 1800+- square feet. I have 10 of the Bam Airsoft targets and it is good practice and a good workout running and gunning in the basement. Lots of moving in and out of rooms and shooting on the move. Round 2 was a 6" KJW GBB-616 with a metal slide. It eats gas but it does run and seems to be holding up pretty well. The stock mag that came with it lasted an hour or so, but the two TM mags run well in it. That was until tonight when one of the mags quit feeding. The TM would shoot 2.5 full mags on a gas charge, the TM is about 1.25. I guess I need to learn how to fix this stuff or it's going to break me. stuart1336
I have both the 4.3 and 5.1. There are more choices in after market slides and frames for the 5.1 and thats the main difference. 4.3 mags are slightly shorter than 5.1. If you fit a mag well to a 4.3 the mag won't fit unless you take the base plate off and then it a bit short to reload properly. If you want to run a mag well get a 5.1. The 5.1 also has an adjustable rear sight. TM's are quite easy to work on and you can get replacement parts or upgrades for everything. My 4.3 has run about 15,000 round and just broken a nozzle. The part is cheap to get. They don't require cleaning but need maintenance every now and then. I think the most important choice when you buy an airsoft is who you buy it from. Make sure the dealer specialises in airsoft, sells parts and has a technician working full time. If you dont want to repair it yourself you can send it off and get it back quick. Thy can also diagnose common problems over the phone and sell you parts. Airsoft is a fantastic tool for busy people but they need to be treated like any other gun platform. You get what you pay for, they do need looking after and bits will break. If you want it to last longer and shoot fast or more accurately buy better parts.
