lucas
I have some tubes that dont like the green, red or the new Grams followers.Either the slide doesnt lock back, which i dont like ,or like with the NewGrams it doesnt feed the third from the bottom round or in one case the last round. It locked the slide bacK with one round left in the mag.Cant i still buy the regular black followers that we used to get?I have checked evertbody thats anybody that i know. Chriss Grube
Sounds more like a slide stop issue than the follower. I'd give Bevan a call I'm sure he has a quick fix.
.40AET
Which tubes are you using?
TeamGE
lucas, As Chris pointed out, your slide lock needs attention (either more tension from the blunger, and/or raise the hook that contacts the follower), and your mag tube needs work. Just changing the follower is not the answer. The original "black" follower you are looking for has been discontinued for some time now. I will be happy to help you over the phone, give me a call. lucas
The tubes i'm working on now ,are 126mm length.Sounds like i may have to send them to Grams for tuning.
EricW
I have a couple used black STI (not SVI) followers that may get you by for now. But, I'd definitely recommend that sooner or later you get your mags / slide stop fixed.
lucas
Thanks Eric W,but i went out again today and with the three 126mm tubes i'm tying to get reliable, i ripped everything out and started over and got two to work with the Grams ,and one with old style black follower. Those green ones i'm tying to get rid of sucked for me and cost me big time on saturday. I normally would of used my 140mm mags that work, but at times at tactical matches the shorter tubes come in handy,if they work ofcourse .I like the Grams. With a thin base pad they are a easy load to 15 unlike what i was used .Do the Grams 40cal 11 coil spring and follower really work in a 140mm mag.My 140mm mags all have 13 coil springs? Jasonub
15 on a 126, you really need to have those tuned. my ipsc box compliant mags will hold 17 and one will hold 18 which i use for starts since its a little difficult to reload with. my setup is svi tubes with gramms springs svi red followers that are ground thin and plus 1 basepad. lucas
I read that on another post,Jasonub.Thats pretty good.My 15 with current base pad is easily done as i said ,but i can force 16 in ,and with a international box base pad may get 17,but i for one am not going to try to take apart those new Grams follower and spring sets to change and grind a differ follower ,because i will probably F it up.However its good to know it can be done. Thanks posting. Robert Snyder
I use and highly reccomend the Grams in my SVI 9mm tubes. In my 40 SVI tubes I am currently using the Arrendondo white Teflon follower with ISMI springs and have no complaints. Eventually I will switch those over to Grams when the springs start to die. The 126 mags that I have encountered all need tuning and to eliminate your frustration I would also send them to Beaven as he will guaranty them to work when he is done with them. To be honest I prefer the SVI tubes over the STI ones but it seems that SVI is waiting until the gunbill sunsets before releasing any tubes. I suppose they want to sell whole mags since the last release date I was told will be Sept.
